FITEQ Level C Referee and FITEQ Level 1 Coaching Course in China

Writer: Norbert AugusztinNorbert Augusztin

The first-ever official and international FITEQ Referee and Coaching courses took place in China in the city of Xiamen between 18 and 20 of October in 2019. Parallelly, two education courses were delivered, one FITEQ Referee Course Level C with 24 local participants and one FITEQ Coaching Course Level 1 with 10 attendees.

Working closely together with the organiser, Morgan Star Group, FITEQ delegated 2 official presenters and 2 teqball animators to showcase teqball going into the details of the sport. It can be claimed that the local organisers were very helpful and active so FITEQ could deliver the course in English with Chinese local interpreters. During the whole duration of the course, the participants were active, they were constantly asking questions to dig deeper into the history and the technical part of the sport of teqball.

As teqball is considered an official sport in Asia since its recognition by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the course participants asked a lot about the objectives and the structure of FITEQ and were delighted to hear that teqball is a programme sport on the Asian Beach Games 2020 in Sanya, China.

All participants took a successful exam with the assistance of the interpreters from a lingual perspective and therefore they all acquired either the FITEQ Level C referee or FITEQ Level 1 coach accreditations.

Date of the course: 2019.10.18-20.

Location: Xiamen, China

Organiser: Morgan Star Group

Number of participants: 34
